M.Tech Programmes

M.TECH Programmes:

IMU offers M.Tech programmes under the School of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering.

This offers two PG programmes:

  • M.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.
  • M.Tech in Dredging and Harbour Engineering.

The School has carved a niche for itself by offering high quality- industry perspective based programmes which are only offered by very few institutions. Those wishing to enter into the niche career of Design & Construction of Ships & Offshore Structures, Ship Building, Ship Repair and Dredging & Harbour Engineering can opt for the courses under School of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering.

M.Tech in Naval Architecture

The programme in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering is aimed at graduate engineers who wish to make a carrier in the area of ship and ocean engineering design and production or allied industries. There is, at present, tremendous growth in Indian Shipbuilding and offshore industry. Also, India has been found to be a profitable outsourcing hub for many external design/ consultancy organizations. Adequate number of qualified naval architects and shipbuilders are not available to take this challenge. The present programme aims at quickly producing maritime design and construction engineers to fill this need on an immediate basis.

M.Tech in Dredging and Harbour Engineering

The programme in Dredging and Harbour Engineering is aimed at graduate engineers who wish to make a carrier in the area of Dredging, port and harbour engineering and allied industries. There is at present tremendous growth in Indian infrastructure industry in port sector. Adequate numbers of qualified engineers are not available to take this challenge. The present programme aims at quickly running maritime engineers in the area of dredging and harbour engineering to fill this need on an immediate basis
