B.Sc Maritime Science course is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping (Government of India).It is a 3-year residential course.

3-year polyvalent (Dual Certification) course leading to B.Sc Maritime Science is a new concept of training with a view to producing a maritime officer having combined knowledge of both the branches of Nautical and Marine Engineering. The syllabus and the curriculum are drawn up with the right mix of Nautical and Engineering subjects.

All applicants to the UG programmes i.e. 3-year B.Sc (Maritime Science) need to fulfil the guidelines of the Director-General of Shipping, Mumbai with regard to physical fitness. The prospective candidates are required to produce a medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Medical Officer approved by Directorate General of Shipping.

Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for DNS, B.Sc (Nautical Science) and B.Sc (Maritime Science).

Candidates desirous of joining these courses are advised to apply for Passport before taking admission.

B.Sc Maritime Science Eligibility Criteria:

Educational qualifications:

Pass in 10+2 (or) equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as Separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%.

Minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard.

The candidate has to appear and qualify in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU). For further details on CET and IMU, visit http://www.imu.edu.in/.

Age Limit 

Candidates belonging to General  & OBC categories should not be more than 25 years and those belonging to SC & ST categories should not be more than 30 years as on 1st October.

Physical Standards - Medically fit as per the standards set by M. S. Medical Examination Rules, 2000.

Eyesight - Candidates have to Qualify a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course. They should have 6/6 in each eye without visual aids and should be free from colour blindness.

B.Sc Maritime Science course fees:
